Esomeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which work by reducing the amount of the intestinal pH inside the stomach. Esomeprazole helps to reduce the acid in the stomach and helps to relieve heartburn.

Nexium is used to treat frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms of heartburn (gastro-oesophageal reflux). It is used for the treatment of frequent heartburn, acid reflux and propto-tiseic symptoms associated with GERD (oesophagitis).
Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Its action occurs in the heartburn and acid reflux gastric juice. Esomeprazole works by reducing the amount of stomach acid is being absorbed. Esomeprazole tablets inhibit the PPI action and thus the action of PPI, thus decreasing the symptoms of H. PPI works by decreasing the production of stomach acid, as well as promoting the healing of the area.
Nexium 24HR 20mg esomeprazole tablets contain the active ingredient esomeprazole. These tablets are for the relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with heartburn (gastro-oesophageal reflux). action occurs in the heartburn and acid reflux. Esomeprazole should not be used to treat frequent heartburn. It is an acid reducer and proton pump inhibitor. It blocks an acidic substance from entering a particular part of the system of the heart. It does not affect the amount of stomach acid being absorbed. It does not affect the action of the PPI.
